MSc in Biosolutions in the making

Delegation from KU and Biotech City representatives at Kalundborg City Hall 19 December 2022.

Partners from Copenhagen University/Københavns Universitet visited Kalundborg in December 2022 to discuss the establishment of a MSc in Biosolutions in Kalundborg.

During the visit, Kalundborg’s Mayor Martin Damm and Senior Vice President at Novo Nordisk API/Chairman of the board of Kalundborg Symbiosis Michael Hallgren contributed with the the Biotech City perspective and experience of implementing education programs including the city’s successful private-public collaboration.

In the Biotech City we work hard to constantly match our industry’s demands with our educational opportunities to grow our talents locally. Our industry shouts for expertise within biosolutions, but it can be hard to find. That is exactly why a MSc in Biosolutions – placed in Kalundborg – is increasingly interesting.

Kalundborg has the potential to become a leading center for biotechnological education, research, and innovation. The placement of relevant educations close to the industry is thus of siginificant importance in terms of educating and developing talent locally establishing a strong food chain matching the industry’s needs. Stine Gry Roland, Project Vice President, Strategy, Public Affairs, and Communication, Novo Nordisk Kalundborg

Now, we look forward to our continued collaboration and to dive deeper into implementing this new, requested education opportunity.
